Referees and officials

IBSA Judo referees are experienced officials with years of experience. They play an integral role in ensuring that matches run smoothly, safely and fairly, as well as guiding athletes on and off the mat.

In recent years, following a partnership with the International Judo Federation (IJF), more IJF referees have started to officiate at IBSA Judo competitions.

As in sighted judo, all IBSA Judo referees are regularly assessed and given feedback.
